On February 2013, an asteroid of 20m diameter enters into the earth's atmosphere. This asteroid with the speed of 19 km per second moved towards Russia and blasted in the atmosphere 30 km away from the earth's surface. This blast affected 6 cities of Russia and 1500 people get injured due to this blast.
The space is not as quite/silent as we think. Many other small and large aestroids enters the earth atmosphere and because of air friction they get destroyed in the atmosphere only and this prevents these asteroids to reach earth's surface.
If the diameter of asteroid is more than 60m, then the atmosphere of earth is unable to destroy these asteroids and their are highly chances that, they strike earth surface.
These asteroids are capable of huge destruction. Not only asteroids, but many other space bodies are capable of such destructions like unknown planets, comet's etc.
Some planets are unknown because they have no moon or they do not revolves around any body and they are also called Rose Planets.
