Project Method of Teaching

It is a modern method of teaching. In this method importance is given to students point of view. It is based on pragmatism philosophy and principal of learning by doing. Children solve practical problems over a period of time , several days or weeks. Some examples of projects are rocket building, design a playground, publish class newspaper. Projects may be suggested by teacher but they are planned and implemented by students alone , individually or in groups.

Merits

Demerits

1. This method is time consuming

2. Material aid is required  

3. Expensive

4. Not suitable for small children

5. Good teachers are required to implement this method of teaching.
