Types of Homo

1. Homo habilis

2. Homo erectus

3. Homo sapiens

Features of Homo habilis:-

1. These were known as tool maker.

2. They have bigger brain.

3. There fossils have been found in Ethopia and Tanzania.

4. Their existence period is 2.2 mya.

Features of Homo erectus:-

1. They could walk erect on their legs.

2. They were very intelligent.

3. They knew the use of fire.

4. There fossils have been found in Africa and Asia

5. They had made further progress in their language.

Features of Homo sapiens:-

1. They are called wise or thinking men.

2. There trace were found in Africa.

3. They have straight skull.

Ways of obtaining food of early human beings:-

1. Gathering –They use to gather food items near them for example they use to gather seeds , nuts , berrier , fruits and tubers.

2. Hunting-they use to kill the animals for meat and marrow.

3. Scavenging-they use to collect the animals for meat who were already dead or those who were killed by preadators.

4. Fishing-they also use to do fishing.

Tools:-

1. Hand axes- These were use for cutting and crushing. These were found in olduvai gorge in Tanzania.

2. Flake tools- these were small and better edge . These were useful in throwing atmore distant targets with comparative easy.

3. Chopper-This is a large stone from which flakes have been removed to produce working edge.

4. Punch blade-It is used to make small chisel like-tools.

5. Fur bearing-It is used for clothing (use of animal skin).

6. sewing needle-used to sewing cloths.

Achievements of modern humans:-

1. He started agriculture.

2. He made remarkable progress in the field of art and language.

3. Increase in the thought process.

4. Improvement in tool making.

5. Knew the use of fire.

6. They are very intelligent.
